overawed by her mother's chaotic personality, LV withdraws into her

"Role Play" by
Alan Ayckbourn

his prissy fiancee, Julie Anne are just about to host a 'meet the
future in-laws' dinner party.

(Matinee performance Sat. 2nd

---------------------------------------------------------------------
"Much Ado About Nothing",
by William Shakespeare.
Regarded as Shakespeare's wittiest comedy, the main plot is in fact a
dark tale of love, deception and reconciliation instigated by the
evil malice of Don John, brother to the Prince of Arragon. But the
principle delight of the play centres on the merry war between the
Prince's friend Benedick and Beatrice, the niece of Leonato, the
Governor of Messina. The pair engage in sharp-tongued repartee,
vowing never to marry, but are tricked by the other main characters
into falling in love in spite of themselves.

(Matinee performance Sat.
15th March at 2.30pm)
-----------------------------------------------------
"Death and the Maiden"
by Ariel Dorfman.
The period is the aftermath of
dictatorship. The events take place at a beach house on the night
that the lawyer Gerado is asked to investigate the crimes of the
recent past. His wife, Paulina, was one of the victims. When Roberto
gives her husband a lift, she recognizes in his voice the suave
menace of the doctor who raped her, who judged how much current to
send through her body.

4th - 9th May 2009 at 7.30pm
(Matinee performance Sat.
15th March at 2.30pm)

"All in Good Time" by
Bill Naughton.
Young, in love and just married.
Arthur and Violet are embarking on their new married life ... in his
parents' upstairs bedroom! Arthur is a sensitive soul, who prefers
listening to classic music than downing a pint with the lads. The
lack of privacy, with too many people in too small a house, is so
inhibiting that six weeks after the wedding the marriage still hasn't
really ... you know ... 'got going'!
-----------------------------
22nd - 27th June 2009 at 7.30pm
(Matinee performance Sat.
21st June at 2.30pm)
----------------------------------------------------
"The Graduate" adapted
by Terry Johnson.
Not so much a boy meets girl, as a boy meets woman. Newly-graduate
Benjamin has known his parents' friends, the Robinsons, since he was
a boy. By the time Mrs Robinson has spent the summer furthering his
'education', he'll know her a whole lot better as a man.
