Pride of the Potteries:

In November 1997, the Rep was proud to open a brand new, purpose built, 235 seat theatre in Stoke on Trent. The theatre was built with the help of an Arts Council lottery grant, the assistance of the City Council, funds raised by the members and the generous sponsorship of local companies.

The Rep's production company, the Stoke on Trent Repertory Players, performs a season of six plays each year. Its members provide the acting company, volunteer administration, technical, and managerial staff, providing the Potteries with a varied entertainments programme in the best traditions of amateur theatre. The Rep also hosts visiting amateur dramatic and operatic societies.

Stoke Rep is a member of the Little Theatre Guild (LTG). The LTG was established in 1946, and Stoke Rep has been a member since 1947. The LTG comprises member theatres throughout the UK, working to a number of aims including promoting co-operation, improving standards, and co-ordinating development and lobbying on behalf of independent amateur theatres.

Find out more about the LTG and its other member theatres here.

The Little Theatre GuildEach member theatre has a representative for LTG, which is a post elected at the member theatre. At Stoke Rep this person is Emma Kirk. Contact Emma via the Rep for copies of LTG's quarterly newsletters and theatre related factsheets, to raise questions with LTG, or to find out about LTG meetings, events and seminars open to member theatres. There is an LTG noticeboard by the box office at the theatre.
